Kasse Mata Temple is located on top of the same ridge where the main town of Chamba is located. Chamba town is on the base of this ridge and you can start you hike right from the town and easily reach Kasse mata temple in 4-5 hrs.
Kasse mata temple offers a beautiful 360 degree view of the whole chamba valley. So if you’re visiting Chamba town and want to have a good look at the valley then you must do this hike which you can do without a guide.
You can reach Kasse Mata Temple from different sides as it’s on top.
From North side you can hike from Agahar Village which is around 15kms from Chamba and bus service to Agahar is available.
From west side you can hike from Jhumhar Village which is shortest hike and bus service to Jhumhar village is available from Chamba and it is at a distance of 10kms from the town.
From East side you can reach from Gharmani side but it’s very steep hike from there and bus service to Gharmani is also available from Chamba.
And from west side you can hike from Chamba town and it’s longer hike than all other paths but no doubt it’s offers best views of the town and the valley. In this video I’ve shown hike from this side. You can go by road upto Luddu Village and start your hike from there then you’ll reach Kasse Mata Temple in 2 hrs easily or you can also hike from the main town and can reach Kasse Mata Temple within 4-5 hrs, so decide accordingly.
Last year we hiked through the same path in snow and reached halfway.
