Lagoond Camping Ground Jassourgarh Churah Valley Chamba Himachal Pradesh

Lagoond Camping Ground is a beautiful meadow amidst a dense deodar forest near Jassourgarh area of Churah valley of Chamba Himachal Pradesh. Lagoond meadow is situated on a mountain ridge so it offers a good view of Churah valley but still it is hidden by tall deodar trees growing over the edges of this beautiful meadow. It makes lagoond a perfect hideout in the woods yet it is just an hour hike from the nearest village Gadiyog.

Lagoond is perfect for a day hike or an overnight camping adventure. You can reach here by a 5 kms off-road from Jassourgarh to Gadiyog village and from there it’s an easy hike of 2 kms that anyone can do easily in an hour.

Kankot Dhar Dhauladhar Chamba Himachal Pradesh

Kankot Dhar is a 4050 meters high mountain over Dhauladhar mountain range. It is situated on the west side of Dhauladhar mountain range and it is the last above 4000 meters mountain of Dhauladhar range leading towards Dalhousie town of Chamba Himachal Pradesh. Because of this it is visible to a wide area of Chamba district of Himachal, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and some areas of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh.

Kankot Dhar is a beautiful pyramid shaped mountain that is clearly visible from the main town of Chamba. It remains covered with snow around the year and enhances the beauty of Chamba town.

Kankot Dhar is definitely the best and one of my favourite treks in Chamba that you can do all year round. Though it is a bit tough to summit during winters but still the thrill and beauty of this trek worth everything.

Kankot Dhar trek from Chamba have two routes one is from Kundi village and other is from Barei Village. I’ve done both routes and made detailed videos about the trek routes that you can see below. Also one is from winters while other is from summer. I’ve shared every details in the video but if you still have any queries feel free to ask in comments.🙏

You can also hire me as a guide for this trek. Contact through email, Facebook or Instagram for bookings.

Gheengha – A traditional Himachali cuisine

Gheengha (घींघा) is a traditional food of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It can be made easily with Corn flour or Wheat flour or with the mixture of the two. Cooked by pouring it on boiling water and can be made easily within 10-15 minutes. So you can call it a traditional fast food of mountains.

In Chamba it’s made mostly by mixing corn flour with wheat flour and called either by “Gheengha” or “Lichad” but in Upper Shimla area it is made with wheat flour only and called by name “Baari”.

So if any of you also belongs to mountains and make similar dish with different names then please share the name in comments. I’d love to know 🤩

Ohh and in this video I’ve shown full process of making Gheengha so that you can also make it own your own. I hope you guys will love it. 🙏🥰
