Kiyur Dal / Chhota Manimahesh | Holi | Chamba Himachal Pradesh

Kiyur Dal is a small lake in Holi valley of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at an altitude of 3100 meters.

Kiyur Dal also known as Chhota Manimahesh and people of Holi valley visit this lake to take holy dip during Manimahesh Yatra as Manimahesh Kailash is also visible from here. This lake is also small in circumference as compared to Manimahesh lake.

Trek to this lake starts from Deol village which is about 6 kms drive from Holi town market. Trek to Kiyur Dal is easy and one can complete it easily in 4 hrs.

Kiyur Dal is named after Kiyur village but the trek via Kiyur village is long and you need 2 hrs more if you plan to trek from that side.

In this video I’ve shown treks from both side so you can enjoy views from both side and can decide for yourself from which side you want to trek. I hope this video will be helpful to you and if you have any query regarding this trek please do ask in comments.

Manimahesh Kailash Parikrama via Kugti Village

Manimahesh Kailash Parikrama starts from Bharmour crossing Kugti village and Dhamghodi pass also known as Jotnu pass and ends at Bharmour completing the circuit through regular yatra route via Hadsar. Many devotees do this circuit during the Manimahesh yatra held in the month of August and September every year.

The trail crosses through Kugti Wildlife Sanctuary area and devotees cross this very steep high altitude Dhamgodi pass to take holy dip in the Manimahesh lake and complete their parikrama of Manimahesh Kailash going through  Dhancho and Hadsar.

So if you also want to do Manimahesh Kailash Parikrama on your own then the video below is full detailed video of my Manimahesh Yatra Parikrama trek during Manimahesh Yatra 2018 on the occasion of Janamastami Snan. In this video I have given every detail about how to reach, where to stay and how to do the Chamba Kailash Parikrama trek.

But if I’ve missed something or you wanna know anything about the trek, feel free to ask in comments.

Manimahesh Kailash Yatra via Sukhdali Pass

Sukhdali pass is a 4630 meters high mountain pass on the south west side of Manimahesh Kailash. Every year many devotees from Holi village cross this pass to take holy dip in Manimahesh lake during annual Manimahesh Kailash Yatra. But less people go through this route as compared to people going from Hadsar and Kugti village side as the route is very difficult and you only get food and shelter in just one place in your way that is Jail khad. From Holi village trek distance to Manimahesh lake is 17kms.

We went on Manimahesh yatra through this pass and then returned back via Hadsar village and I’ve made a full detailed video of our yatra in 2019.

So this video will be helpful for you if you want do Manimahesh yatra via Sukhdali Pass or want to trek to Sukhdali Pass.
