Lagoond Camping Ground Jassourgarh Churah Valley Chamba Himachal Pradesh

Lagoond Camping Ground is a beautiful meadow amidst a dense deodar forest near Jassourgarh area of Churah valley of Chamba Himachal Pradesh. Lagoond meadow is situated on a mountain ridge so it offers a good view of Churah valley but still it is hidden by tall deodar trees growing over the edges of this beautiful meadow. It makes lagoond a perfect hideout in the woods yet it is just an hour hike from the nearest village Gadiyog.

Lagoond is perfect for a day hike or an overnight camping adventure. You can reach here by a 5 kms off-road from Jassourgarh to Gadiyog village and from there it’s an easy hike of 2 kms that anyone can do easily in an hour.

Ain Pukhari Dhar Chamba Himachal Pradesh

Ain Pukhari Dhar is a beautiful meadow on the ridge parting Saal valley and Churah valley of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at an altitude of 3380 meters surrounding by dense forest on a steep ridge making it a hidden paradise that only people of Gujjar community know about. Gujjars stay here in summer and monsoon for cattle grazing.

On the west of Ain Pukhari Dhar the ridge go through Chandi-Chala Dhar and Banotu Dhar and on the east side it rises upto Galaund Gala and Supeka Dhar. Basically this whole ridge is a paradise in itself and you can hike over the ridge as there is a good visible trail.

Trek to Ain Pukhari Dhar start from Kurtha Village and goes through Sara Village and it is about 8.5 kms. Kurtha Village is about 20kms from Chamba and is well connected with public transport.

Niloh Dhar Naag Lake

Niloh Dhar is a beautiful mountain ridge of 2700 meter altitude near Bharara village of Churah Valley of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The ridge have a small lake and meadows perfect for camping.

The lake is dedicated to Naag Devta and there is also a small temple on the west side of the lake. One can easily reach at the lake from Bharara village after hiking for 2 hours.

To reach here you can take bus from ISBT chamba or you can take your own vehicle upto Bharara village. There is also a newly constructed off-road which cut down your hike to one hour.

Jai Shree Mata Temple Bhandal Valley

Bhandal valley of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh connects Bhaderwah valley of Jammu and Kashmir. In this valley lies a temple of Nagini Mata known as Jai Shree Mata Temple that have ancient sculptures made beautifully of stones and even the locals have no idea about when this temple was built. But the work on these sculptures is worth seeing.

On the top of same ridge as of this temple is another temple where it is believed that Jai shree Mata first appeared. That place is known as Jai shrounth and lies on the border of J&K and Himachal Pradesh.

Parvati Kund glacial Lake near Sach Pass

Parvati Kund is a 4110 m high altitude glacial lake situated 2-3 kms south of Sach Pass in Churah valley of Chamba Himachal Pradesh. It remains covered under snow and frozen for 6-7 months of the year.

The lake is dedicated to Mata Parvati but there is also a temple of Bankhandi Mata on the edge of this glacial lake. Locals of Churah valley worship this lake and maintain silence or keep their voices low during their visit to this holy lake.

This lake is approachable either via Sach Pass or Satrundi which is base camp to the Sach Pass towards Churah valley side. Trek to Parvtati Kund is 3-4 kms from both Sach Pass and Satrundi and one can easily reach at the lake within 2-3 hrs from both the places. Best time to visit this lake is from June to October when the Sach Pass is open.

Trek to Gadasaru Mahadev Lake

Gadasaru Mahadev Lake is a 4050 meter high altitude lake located near Alipatan Pass in the Pir-Panjal mountain range of the Himalayas in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. The lake is heart shaped and is small in circumference.

Every year many devotees from Churah Valley and other parts of Chamba visit this lake to take the holy dip on the occasion of Janamashtami and Radha ashtami. There are two ways to reach Gadasaru Mahadev lake, one is via Devikothi village which is easier than the other one that starts from Bhanjraru, the headquarter of Churah Valley. The trek from Bhanjraru is very long and tough.The length of this trek is not known as I do not measured the same but you need 3-4 days to complete this trek depending upon your speed.

In the video below full trek starting from Devikothi to Gadasaru Lake and further trek to Bhanjraru is shown. And I’ve tried to give all the necessary information you need to know before going on this trek. But it’s an old video from the year when I just started making vlogs so if I missed any information that you need to know, you can ask in comments.
