Gheengha – A traditional Himachali cuisine

Gheengha (घींघा) is a traditional food of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. It can be made easily with Corn flour or Wheat flour or with the mixture of the two. Cooked by pouring it on boiling water and can be made easily within 10-15 minutes. So you can call it a traditional fast food of mountains.

In Chamba it’s made mostly by mixing corn flour with wheat flour and called either by “Gheengha” or “Lichad” but in Upper Shimla area it is made with wheat flour only and called by name “Baari”.

So if any of you also belongs to mountains and make similar dish with different names then please share the name in comments. I’d love to know 🤩

Ohh and in this video I’ve shown full process of making Gheengha so that you can also make it own your own. I hope you guys will love it. 🙏🥰
