Trek to Garh Mata Temple

Garh Mata Temple is a temple of devi Chamunda which was built by the Raja of Chamba named Prithi Singh at the border of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. And that’s why the mountain top at which the temple was built is also called as Prithi Jot.

Garh Mata Temple is at an altitude of about 2940 meters. It is a day hike and approachable easily from Salooni, Kihar and Telka areas of Chamba Himachal Pradesh from three sides and from Bani area of Jammu and Kashmir from west side. Though you can also camp for a night as the meadows around the temple are very beautiful and you can enjoy a beautiful view of sunrise from Pir Panjal mountain range and sunset view behind Ranjit Sagar dam of Pathankot, Punjab from these meadows.

Every year thousands of devotees from Chamba and Bani visit this temple on the occasion of Garh Mata Jatar Mela held for day in September. So in this video I have shown the full trek from Salooni, Chamba, Himachal pradesh and Garh Mata Jatar Mela of 2018. I hope you’ll enjoy the video although I have shared the details about this trek and how to reach but if you have any queries please ask in comments.
